Baby Layout

I had lots of beads from my jewellery making so decided to make some embellishments using beads. The heart and beads hanging from the branch was so easy. Just hang the heart and fold over the wire and then thread your chosen beads on. On the last bead I thread the wire back through again to secure it so the beads would not move. The flower centre was made by threading beads on wire and then twisting the wire. I did each bead petal and the the centre beads twisting as I went. It is actually quite easy. I use a thin gauge wire so it is more gentle on your hands and easy to twist.  The branch was cut out of Ranger grunge paper and then embossed with Opals Embossing Enamels.

Cards made from the left over paper

I like to make cards from my left over paper scraps so when the layout was finished I just had to make some cards.
The boy card also has a bead flower embellishment on top of some Kaisercraft paper flowers. I added some flower lace which I absolutely love. The word "Baby" was cut out of the Grunge paper on my cricut and then embossed with Opals Embossing Enamel.

Then came the girl card. Again I used the flower ribbon. The word "Baby" was triple embossed. I did not have any pink embossing powder so I made some with  my pearlex and clear embossing powder. The colour was still not quite what I wanted so when the embossing was done I went over it with a pink copic pen to change the colour a bit. I do love the alcohol ink pens, they are so versatile. The flower was made from a pink wired organza ribbon. I cut the wire off of one side and then gathered the ribbon on the remaining wire. Then make a spiral to make the flower. A bead was added to the centre.
